Our little Bethany is finally home for the first time in her life. We are so grateful for how the Lord has protected her and taken care of her. And, we are SO happy to finally have her home! Thanks to all of you who have been praying for her and for us!
The doctors say that we need to keep her home for the first few weeks of her life as her immune system has already had quite a workout. We will miss seeing you all and getting to share her with you for a little while! We will try to keep posting pictures so we can at least share her with you electronically. :)
It was so much fun to see Michael's response to seeing his sister for the first time!
We received the test results for Bethany last night. They have identified the particular strain of bacteria. Also, as of Wednesday's test, the blood culture came back showing that the bacteria is gone. They still want to keep her at least until the 26th to observe her and make sure everything is clear. We have had really come to appreciate the staff at the Loma Linda NICU. The nurses have been wonderful! We so appreciate all of your prayers and encouraging comments, emails, and calls.
We checked our little Bethy into Loma Linda University Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit yesterday. She had a little fever and low blood sugar and the doctor was concerned she might have an infection. It looks like she may need to be there approximately 10 days. We are very thankful for the way the Lord has worked everything out so far. It has been hard on us, but the Lord has provided comfort, encouragement and strength. We would appreciate your prayers for us and for our little Bethy.
